Yarra Valley Dairy is part of the property known as “Hubertswood” owned by the Mooney Family. Named after one of the early settlers and vignerons, Hubert de Castella, the property is now used for producing the fine quality farmhouse cheeses in what is known as one of the premium wine and dairy regions of Australia.

They make a range of delicious, fresh artisan cheeses from both cows and goats milk, including the much loved Yering - semi-mature white mould goats milk cheese.

The rich and buttery Yarra Valley Dairy Yering™ makes an appearance in nearly all of our Cheese Hampers thanks to its luscious mouth feel and Camembert tones. The dairy's artisan cheesemakers use a traditional process in the maturing room to create a delicate white mould that breaks down in the centre, producing a creamy and velvety texture.

Their matured cheeses are created with the vast knowledge and experience gained locally and in Europe by their amazing cheesemakers. The end result is rich, well rounded cheeses with full flavour and good length.

Yarra Valley Dairy is a family owned business that has been producing delicious handmade farmhouse cheeses since 1995.

The cheese factory uses the freshest cows milk provided by our neighbouring dairy farms and goats milk delivered regularly from the Gippsland region where the natural environment and pastures are more favourable for farming goats.

The majority of the cheeses are fresh and soft in characteristic, made in distinctly Italian and French styles; however the mature cheeses have become an important part of our production and range.



Yering is semi-mature white mould goats milk cheese. With rich, buttery, luscious mouth feel. Camembert tones, it tastes best with fresh figs, sliced pear, balsamic onions, crusty bread, carved ham.

Pair it with Chardonnay, Marsanne, Pear Cider and you are in heaven.

The cheese shop is located in the original 100 year old milking shed here on the farm, right beside the cheese factory.

Tastings of the fresh handmade cheeses and locally produced wines are encouraged and they stock a range of delicious regional and specialist produce, (some of the best award winning jams and relishes in the country) alongside some beautiful homewares and gift ideas. The popular cheese plates are accompanied by locally baked fresh breads and various regionally produced charcuterie items are also available to purchase and eat in.
