Bass & Flinders is an Australian family-owned Mornington Peninsula distillery surrounded by vineyards in Dromana. It is proud to be one of few distilleries to create its own eau de vie base spirit, using Shiraz or Chardonnay grapes, to produce a product range with a truly unique flavour profile. Bass & Flinders artisan gin epitomises a passion for the distilling craft and a true sense of place on the stunning Mornington Peninsula with every bottle staying true to the region through the use of local produce.
Drawing inspiration from Bass & Flinder's coastal home where the sea meets the wine-growing hinterland, they handcraft their grape-based eau de vie spirit right at the distillery, using traditional methods from the Charente region of France. Victorian wine specially crafted to a desired flavour profile is double distilled in small batches using a gas-fired alembic pot still - a method designed to celebrate the flavour and viscosity provided by the grapes. Just the definition of quality.
Bass & Flinders' Soft and Smooth Gin combines eight botanicals including juniper berries, Angelica root, liquorice root and lime. Lively lime levitates over the traditional gin botanicals, creating a racy, balanced gin and enhances the smooth quality of their hand-crafted grape spirit. Distilled using Bass & Flinder’s own spirit from local wine in an Alembic Pot Still, it boasts a unique quality and smooth texture.
Inspired by the coastline, sea breeze and rocky shores of the Mornington Peninsula, fresh and savoury Maritime gin delivers a uniquely Australian twist to the classic dry gin. For a beautiful depth of flavour, this masterpiece has been infused with locally-foraged Kelp, Samphire, Vine Leaves, Coastal Saltbush, Lemon Myrtle and Currant Bush to complement its dry Juniper notes. It’s a classic twist on Australian dry gin that is adored!
